Bandi Sanjay, a leader who emerged from Karimnagar and made his way to Delhi, received notable acclaim. Starting as a grassroots worker in the BJP, he gradually gained prominence both at the state and national levels. Initially elected as a councilor during Karimnagar’s municipality era, he later became a corporator after the formation of the corporation. Bandi pursued his education in his hometown of Karimnagar, attending the esteemed Shishumandir school.
During his time as a student, he dedicated himself to volunteering for the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh. He then went on to hold various positions within the ABVP, including town convener, vice president, and state executive committee member. Later, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and served as the Yuva Morcha Town General Secretary, Town President, State Executive Committee Member, State Vice President, National Executive Committee Member, and National Secretary in charge of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. In 2016, he took on the role of representing the state authority.
He served as the campaign in-charge at the BJP National Office in Delhi for a period of time and also worked as in-charge of the Advani’s Ratha Yatra. He was elected as a member of the Governing Body of Karimnagar Urban Cooperative Bank twice, first from 1994 to 1998 and then from 1999 to 2003. The previous three Paryas participated in the elections for the Karimnagar assembly seat but were unsuccessful. Following his defeat as MLA in 2018, he secured victory as MP from Karimnagar for the first time in 2019. Subsequently, he assumed the role of BJP state president, revitalizing the party in Telangana.
On the 4th of July 2023, Bandi Sanjay resigned from his position as Telangana party president, and on the 21st of July, G. Kishan Reddy took over his role. He was then named as the National General Secretary for BJP on the 30th of July 2023, and he officially assumed the position on the 4th of August 2023. His appointment as Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs took place on the 9th of June 2024.
